Cute Kids, stylish digs…Rustic dressed flower girls and ring bearers could possibly be the cutest part of the wedding day! Thanks to Jeannine Marie Photography and Kendra Oxendale Photography, we pulled together some real wedding photos of these super cute lil ones for inspiration. We are loving the newsboy hat on the boys and fun hair pieces worn by the ladies! Dapper Lads has a few cute rustic clothing options for the wee ones!
Dellwood Barn is located just minutes north of Stillwater. The historic barn was homesteaded in the 1860’s and operated as a working dairy farm for five generations. Now the barn has been carefully renovated into a grand wedding barn. From the moment we drove down the gravel driveway, we got goosebumps with excitement about this gorgeous space! The one level barn is very pleasing to the eye, and is surround by nicely manicured landscaping and fields. With a whooping 4,700 square feet, the barn can seat about 300 guests for a sit down dinner! A few tables can easily be removed to make space for the dance floor. Guests can get a birds eye view of the fun from the loft area-this also makes a good photo opp for a shot of the entire reception. Dellwood Barn has a few geat amenities including nicely decorated, built-in-bathrooms!! They also have a custom built-in-bar and offer handmade farm tables/chairs. Another great feature of the barn is the sliding barn doors, which allow a lot of light to shine on in! Brides also love the get ready space in the lower part of the barn. Dellwood Barn is a great fit for a grand rustic wedding! We are excited to be headed out here in September to help plan Stephanie and Andrew’s wedding! If you are considering getting married here, we would love to help with planning or decor rental!

There is something magical about Hope Glen Farm in Cottage Grove! From the moment you step onto the property it is easy to fall in love with all aspects of the farm! It has been a very popular venue-doing at least 80 weddings a season! Paula and Michael have a great story about how they started out, and couldn’t be better hosts! The ceremony site is located in the grassy area in front of an old tree, which had a limb fall ever so perfectly in a storm, making a background arch to say your vows in front of. Rustic benches are provide for guest seating. Hope Glen Farm can host 300+ people under their pavilion for a sit down dinner. Rustic farm tables and chiavari chairs are also provided. We love their new addition of the grand stone fireplace under the pavilion! After dinner guests can move to the air conditioned barn for the dance. Other nice amenities include: built in bathrooms, the classy bridal get ready room and the “man cave”. Coming in 2016, they will also have a tree house honeymoon suite and a corn crib cottage! Hope Glen Farm is a great barn to host your wedding, just make sure to plan far in advance as the book up pretty quick. We would love to help plan your wedding here, or provide some additional rustic decor! 🙂 Thank you Jeannine Marie Photography for these great photos!
p.s We forgot to mention the have Goats!!! So cute!
We had the pleasure of helping Kailee and Derek with their wedding last spring at Minnetonka Orchards. I must say we love Minnetonka Orchards, it is a perfect wedding venue for the more relaxed crowd and has great options to be outdoors, but has indoor options in case of rain. Kailee and Derek did an outstanding job of personalizing their day. Guests arrived and headed down the wooded path to where the outdoor ceremony was set up. 5 sets of grandparents were included in the ceremony, which was very touching. One of the talented groomsmen played the guitar for the processional music. And they used an apple tree for their unity symbol-how fitting for the apple orchard!
Their reception started off with outstanding bar services from With a Twist. Instead of the traditional guest book, a drawing of a tree was used and people added their names to a leaf or an apple, which was then placed on the tree. What a great idea! Florapalooza provided the florial arrangements-We love the simple white and pink peonies arrangements, which also filled the air with a sweet aroma. Rustic Elegance also provided some of the rustic decor-including blue mason jars, Shepard’s hooks, lanterns, seating chart frame.. etc Mr. Pig Stuff provided delicious pulled pork sandwiches for the meal-which everyone enjoyed! It was the perfect evening for guests to partake in yard games, a bon-fire and of course smores! Instant Request had everyone dancing all night, I must say they have some friends with some pretty good dance moves (we were taking notes)! 🙂 . We love the “who has been married the longest” dancing game-Which Delores and Phil won-They couldn’t have been any cuter! Melissa Jopp Photography captured their day beautifully! We thank her for these amazing photos!
Thanks Kailee and Derek for including Rustic Elegance in your day-we had a blast! We wish you much love and happiness!

We had the pleasure of helping Ann and Chris with their wedding planning this past fall. The ceremony and reception was located on their family farm by Sauk Centre, MN. I am a huge fan of this part of MN, as I spent a lot of my summers on a farm not far from here when I was growing up. The ceremony was set in their backyard, overlooking a vista of fields. Stawbails, covered with canvas, lined the aisle for guests to sit on. The reception was held in a large tent provide by Centre Rental, and was positioned in front of the barn. Ann and Chris incorporated a lot of fun details in their day-include a non-traditional ceremony program, which let their personalities shine through. As guests entered the reception they picked up a mason jar glass with their name on it, from under a sign that read “fill me up, use me all night, take me home”. The couple also put a twist on the traditional directional sign, by displaying places they had traveled together and the distance to these places.
One of my favorite details they incorporated, is they asked their aunts and cousins to bake their favorite dessert/bars instead of a having a cake. These were displayed with the name of the bars and who made them. Despite a huge rain storm that went through right before the ceremony, we rearranged a few things and the sun came back out right as Ann and her dad walked down the aisle. Adagio DJ provided uplighting in the tent and also had people dancing until the wee hours of the morning. Huge thank you to Shelley Paulson Photography for these great photos! She did an fantastic job and was great to work with! It was such a pleasure being a part of Ann and Chris’s day. We felt like we were part of the family-we must say Ann’s dad, Ken, was one of best FOB we have met! Ann and Chris’s wedding was published in the Sauk Centre Herald and will also be featured in the up coming issue of the Central Minnesota Bridal Magazine.
