Rolling Ridge | Styled Shoot

Along with a few other great vendors, we were chosen to help with a Styled Shoot, at the beautiful Rolling Ridge Wedding and Event Center. We absolutely L O V E D every minute of this fun shoot! We went with a fall theme, sporting some plaid and cozy feelings throughout. Our outstanding vendor team took the already romantic venue and added cozy & woodsy decor to create this romantic look. The florals from St. Cloud Floral were A M A Z I N G and bold – adding such a difference to the table setting. Rustic Elegance brought in rental decor including farm tables, vintage plates, wine barrels with door for desserts, lanterns, and Mr. & Mrs. pillows. Geyer Rental brought in the dinner chairs, the gold silverware, sofa and backdrop, adding more decor throughout the shoot. We also were so in L O V E with Paper Thick Ink’s graphic touches throughout the shoot including the invitations, popcorn bag programs, and guest favor tags.

This rustic venue is located in Saint Joseph, MN, right off of I-94. The venue lays on 14 acres of natural beauty – hills, mature trees and views of fields and water that aren’t easily compared to other locations. The barn is 120-years old and can comfortable seat 300 guests, and also has heating/cooling features depending on what time of year your wedding is in. The barn was moved from its original place of standing, but the foundation was left as is, which now can be used for a backdrop for your wedding ceremony. We absolutely L O V E doing weddings at this venue, and working with the owners.

Chistine + Jeremy | Backyard Wedding

Christine + Jeremy had the sweetest backyard tent wedding and we had to throw it back to touch on this one. The Rustic Elegance team of Kellie and Danielle started setting up for the day featuring Rustic Elegance rented farm tables, benches, and our cute W O O D bar. As Rustic Elegance prepped, so did the wedding party – with the ladies + gents getting ready in their separate spaces. The bride R O C K E D some super cute cowboy boots – which we were O B S E S S E D with. The wedding party consisted of the couples 2 daughters and 3 sons and made for the C U T E S T pictures by kolorblind Photography. It was then time for their intimate ceremony, featuring a smaller group setting with only family. The day was G O R G E O U S – bright and sunny and perfect for a wedding.

Christine + Jeremy opted for an open house style reception, featuring drinks poured by With a Twist, and wood fire grilled pizzas for dinner [S O – F U N] from Red Rover Pizza. They grilled the pizzas right on-site and even tossed the pizza dough up in the air, not skipping a beat, as guests were W O W E D. Since the bride and groom are “horse people”, they were creative with their guest book, and incorporated a old saddle for people to sign. While guests continued to mingle, DJ Skoolz kept the tunes playing and the dance floor full of energy! Guests enjoyed the laid back feel of the night and celebrating the love of Christine + Jeremy.

Tips + Tricks | Planning a Tent Wedding

To feed off of our previous blog [Tips + Tricks | Planning a Barn Wedding] we thought we would give our readers some tips + tricks on our other specialty – T E N T weddings! Weddings can get S T R E S S F U L in the planning process, and if you are getting married + having your reception outside [or under a tent], here are a few things to think about:

LAYOUT:
One of the M A I N components of planning a backyard/tent wedding is envisioning the space and finding the perfect tent/rental vendor to suit your needs. [Apres Event Rental is one of our favs]. In thinking about the layout of the space ask yourself these questions: Is there enough room for a tent [or two] that can hold the guest count? Is the area flat? Are there trees/branches that would get in the way of the tent? [taking into consideration that the tent stakes/ropes can take up to 7 F E E T on each side of the tent]. Another important thing to consider is the flow of the event space. Make sure there is enough room for your guests to mingle, dance, stand in line at the bar, walk through the buffet, etc. Think about the guest tables and head table layout [P R O – T I P: Rectangle tables will take up less space in a tent then round tables]. Another concept to think about is can your space accommodate parking for your guests. If the space isn’t large enough, you could considering hiring a shuttle service to bring in guests from the hotel (consider Renee’s Royal Valet). As part of the services we offer at Rustic Elegance, we provide a consult at your home and also draw up a detailed layout of your tent and surrounding space!

LIGHTING / POWER:
While planning a tent wedding, lighting and power will play a key aspect in your day. You’ll want to ensure that all areas are well lit for guests to walk around with ease in the dark. Don’t forget the path to the bathrooms and parking. Also, you may want to add a solar light to the bottom of each tent stake so guests won’t trip over them in the dark. For lighting inside of the tent, we recommend consulting with one of our favorite vendors, We’ve Got It Covered, for ideas on different options [and even D R A P I N G]. You’ll also want to ensure that you have enough power available for the lights, DJ, bathroom trailer, keg trailer, coffee makers, fans, etc. Make sure you locate the breaker box ahead of time and designate someone to flip it back on if one trips [pssst – hire Rustic Elegance to worry about that for you!]. When thinking about power, it is also helpful to have a few extra extension cords on hand. Also make sure to keep all cords that are in use out of the walkways so guests won’t trip over them.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:
Not the most fun part of tent wedding planning [but one of the most important parts] is ensuring that you have everything set with your city/location. Check with the city to see if a permit is required to host a party in your backyard/on property – every city is different in this aspect. Also, you may want to add extra insurance coverage with your homeowners insurance for the day of the wedding in order to cover any accidents that may occur [but we are hoping for a S M O O T H day!].

DECOR:
Another detail to think about is decor and centerpieces! Make sure your centerpieces are heavy enough so that the wind can’t blow them over! Consider using battery candles vs. real ones, so these will stay lite on a windy day. [P R O – T I P: Opt for a seating chart versus place cards for outdoor weddings to avoid fly away place cards!]. Another option to dress up your tent would be to rent R U S T I C [but elegant] furniture! At Rustic Elegance, we offer a variety of fun rental options [couches, vintage hutches, chairs, etc] that could spruce up the tent space.

VENDORS:
Because you are getting married in a backyard setting vs. getting married at a place where a lot of the vendors are already included, hiring vendors with expertise in this type of setting is a must! Check with your caterer to see if they have experience cooking on site so they can ensure S M O O T H service + a memorable meal. If you’re looking for a caterer that does it all, we love working with A’BriTin Catering – they are A M A Z I N G! When considering dessert vendors, make sure you pick something that can withstand the heat. Cakes with a L O T of frosting can melt quickly in the S T E A M of MN // WI summer days. For your bartender, considering hiring a licensed service, who also carries liquor liability insurance. Liquid Motion and With a Twist are two good options [with both of these companies, you can still provide your own kegs/wine]. Also consider renting a keg trailer to keep all your beer [and white wine] COLD.

WEATHER:
With an outdoor tent wedding, weather can be an issue! You can never predict Mother Nature – it could be too hot, too cold, too windy, too rainy, etc. But planning ahead can ensure a perfect day no matter what. Considering order sidewalls for your tent, not only can these help on a R A I N Y day, but they can also help if your guests are blinded by the sun, if tablecloths are blowing off, or if floral arrangements are blowing over. [When deciding on your tent size, you’ll want to ensure that it is B I G enough to host everything under it [bar, dance floor, dining, etc.] and if it ends up being nice out – that’s a B O N U S and you can move some items outside! If the weather ends up not cooperating, make sure you have a back-up plan/layout in place for your ceremony. When thinking about H O T weather – consider ordering fans to keep guests cool, and overstock on ice/water to keep guests hydrated. If you are thinking about C O O L E R weather – consider bringing in heaters + blankets for guests to stay warm. If it’s supposed to be a rainy day – consider having U M B R E L L A S on hand [you can rent these from Rustic Elegance!]

LITTLE [BUT BIG] DETAILS:
When you plan a tent wedding, it’s not “all inclusive” like a golf course or hotel venue. You’ll have to provide some of your own items – Including Bathrooms [P R O – T I P: We recommend a least one Porta Potty to every 75 guests. On-Site is a G R E A T option when it comes to renting bathrooms – they even have trailers with A C!]. Don’t forget a hand washing station! Also, not so fun, but important to remember is garbage cans. You will want to make sure you have plenty on hand [with bags that fit]! Don’t forget to add recycling bins to cut down on waste. Clearly label these for guests to put waste in appropriate bins. Something to consider is who will be in charge of clearing dirty glassware off the tables and checking for full garbages periodically throughout the night [and where will these be put when full!].

In outdoor settings, you’ll want to ensure that your guests are comfortable. Consider providing sunscreen + bug spray, a bathroom basket with all the goodies, and even dancing shoes [or flip flops] for guests to use on the dance floor. While we are on the topic of shoes, it’s never a bad idea to remind guests to wear O U T D O O R friendly shoes + attire [H E Y – you can even add a note on your invitation or wedding website].

CLEAN-UP:
At the end of the night and after all of the F U N, having a tent wedding can leave you with a hefty “to-do” list of clean up items. Think ahead about who is going to blow out candles, clean up glassware, empty garbages, clean up the decor, remove your centerpieces, etc. It’s definitely not one of the most F U N parts of planning – but it can turn into a hassle if it is forgotten! Friends + family will be tired from dancing the night away, so we suggest hiring someone [like us!] to close out the end of the night + clean up.

MOST IMPORTANTLY:
Last but not least – to ensure that your day is P E R F E C T, appoint a contact person to greet vendors, implement the rain plan, keep things on schedule, and to handle any last minute problems that may arise! [hire a Day of Coordinator like Rustic Elegance] so that you and your family can also enjoy the day! Backyard weddings can be A M A Z I N G + extremely beautiful, but if not executed in a proper manner, can leave guests remembering the bad instead of the good. Our goal as Day of Coordinators is to P L A N ahead, be fully prepared for anything that comes our way, and have your guests remember how B E A U T I F U L your day was, as you start this exciting new journey with your partner!

Kaitlin + Matt | Wasner Barn

We absolutely A D O R E D working with Kaitlin and Matt on their wedding. They ended up deciding on T O N S of Rustic Elegance rentals including some furniture, signs, etc. [they even rented the cute directional sign that Rustic Elegance owner Kellie’s 91 year old grandpa hand painted – so C U T E!].

The day started with the ladies prepping their hair and makeup, and getting into the G O R G E O U S dresses. The men got in their suits, suspenders, and bow ties, and were ready to take photos with one of our F A V photographer’s, Jeannine, working for Bellagala [who is so much FUN to work with!]. The wedding party consisted of 7 ladies and 6 men which made for a group full of laughs and S M I L E S as the day went on. While pictures were being taken, the tent was being set up with simple + sweet centerpieces that included pictures of the couple, blue mason jars with Baby’s Breath, candles [made by the couple], and old B O O K S that they had collected. The tables were set with vintage plates for dinner and guests had the option of using mason jars to drink out of – we L O V E D this combo. We also helped set up a C A N D Y bar that was a hit with the guests later in the night.

Kaitlin and Matt got married at a beautiful church and then guests headed over to Wasner Barn for the reception! Guests were able to play yard games in the large grassy area of the barn throughout the evening. For dinner, Divine Swine Catering served up phenomenal food [as always], followed by Y U M M Y desserts from Cake Walk. After dessert – it was time to get the party S T A R T E D! This couple lucked out with a G O R G E O U S night, so they were able to have their dance outside under the stars, with the sweet addition of string lights – so pretty [Jeannine captured some great night photos of this]! They also had a bonfire for guests to enjoy and a late night snack of S ‘ M O R E S! As the night came to a close, the Rustic Elegance team cleaned up all of the guest tables and decor so that the couple could enjoy their first night as a married couple.

Tips + Tricks | Unity Symbols

Throughout our time as wedding coordinators, we have seen a variety of U N I T Y symbols at different weddings. Although they are not necessarily a part of every wedding, they provide something that the couple can take home with them, that signifies the unifying of both individuals. Here are a few I D E A S that we’ve seen throughout our time at Rustic Elegance:

COLORED SAND
Think about having two different colors of sand in small vases, and a big vase in the center. When ready, you can pour the two different colors of sand into the larger vase, each taking turns on layering the sand. This exemplifies balance and patience in day to day life, and can serve as a constant reminder to communicate. Tiffany + Derek used this unity symbol for their wedding + it turned out A M A Z I N G!

PLANTING A TREE
As a symbol of new journeys and new life, we have had two couples [Kailee + Derek and Kelsey + Issac] plant a tree in a pot at their ceremony. We absolutely L O V E D that this tree would grow along with the couple as they begin this new journey of married life together.

Day of Coordinator, Tips + Tricks, Unity Symbols_0568.jpgPhoto by: Midwest LifeShots Photography

BOX OF WINE
If you and your partner are lovers of W I N E, a fun unity idea is to box up a bottle of wine for an anniversary to come! You could also add notes into the box, or get a bottle of wine that was bottled the same year as your wedding. On that anniversary down the road, you can open the box of wine, and reminisce on your W E D D I N G day. Abby + Casey opted for this unity symbol, and it was A D O R A B L E!

[BABY YOU’RE A] FIREWORK
A very unique unity symbol that we came across at Lisa + Robin’s wedding was a F I R E W O R K! Yes – that’s right – a big loud B O O M to celebrate the unity of these two lovebirds! Guests were definitely surprised + loved it!

Day of Coordinator, Tips + Tricks, Unity Symbols_0567.jpgPhoto by: Caroline Henderson

BALLOON RELEASE
A balloon release can be so B E A U T I F U L + simple! Chastity + Jake did a balloon release with their [A D O R A B L E] kids. Emily + Nick had their flower girls carry the balloons up the aisle while they were walking down. Upon the release, it was such a F U N way to celebrate the unity of these two couples.

Day of Coordinator, Tips + Tricks, Unity Symbols_0566.jpgPhoto by: Kate Becker Photography

CANDLE
Another simple + E L E G A N T unity symbol is lighting a candle together. Melanie + Dan and Emily + Kyle did this at their wedding, and the presentation was so S W E E T. A note for those planning – if you are having an outdoor wedding, you’ll want to make sure to have your candle inside of a lantern or glass container to control the flame from blowing out. Also don’t forget a L I G H T E R.

Day of Coordinator, Tips + Tricks, Unity Symbols_0564.jpgPhoto by: Shelley Kay Photography

SAND + SOIL [A LITTLE PIECE OF HOME]
Mel + Chris had the C U T E S T idea of a unity symbol – they brought sand + soil from their cabins and combined them into a beautiful jar to display in their home. Such a fun way to incorporate a little piece of their H O M E away from H O M E on their special day!

TYING OF STRANDS // BRAIDING CORDS
One of the more popular unity symbols that we have seen in three weddings [Rachel + Brad, Meghan + Kolten and Amy + Kevin] is the tying of strands or braiding of cords. We L O V E that this can be so symbolic for couples + also ties them in a spiritual way as well [P R O – T I P: make sure you practice this together before your big day, so you have a game plan of how to do].

Day of Coordinator, Tips + Tricks, Unity Symbols_0563.jpgPhoto by: Narvold Photography

AN EXTRA P R O – T I P
Don’t forget to have a small table ordered/provided by your rental company or venue in order to place your unity symbol on if applicable [psst… you can rent these from Rustic Elegance!].

In conclusion, a unity symbol can truly be A N Y T H I N G that is meaningful to the couple. Anything that symbolizes two individuals, coming together as one in a new journey as a married couple. If nothing speaks to you as a couple to use as a unity symbol, you might not need one! There are plenty of weddings that we have helped coordinate that opt out of having a unity symbol at all. As you continue to plan + prep for your day, we wanted to provide you with some fun + unique options for unity symbols, and we hope that this B L O G helps you decide!

Melanie + Dan | Backyard Wedding

Melanie + Dan had such a F U N wedding this past summer! Their ceremony and reception were at the bride’s parents farm and it was so S P E C I A L for everyone involved. The back story of this couple is nothing short of a C U T E love story: they met/dated in high school, but went their separate ways for a while. When they reunited – the sparks flew again and they knew it was meant to be! The flower girl and ring bearer were the bride’s children, and were nothing short of A B S O L U T E L Y adorable [especially in the pictures throughout the day!].

 How A D O R A B L E are these two?!

The ceremony was intimate and sweet, and was underneath the tree that Melanie used to play under as a kid, making it extra special. The set-up for the ceremony and reception was simple, and full of Rustic Elegance rentals! They rented lanterns, tables, a mason jar chandelier, cupcake stands, signage, frame for their seating chart, mirrors, couches, lighting, table runners, chalkboards, ceremony doors, the bar, etc. It was S O much fun setting out and working with the Rustic Elegance decor – we had a B L A S T doing it! The couple also had mason jars filled with kid activities and we loved that special touch for the kid friendly wedding.

So simple + E L E G A N T – we love this chandelier!

The Back 40 Catering did a fantastic job of catering in dinner for the night, and also provided some of the desserts. The other U N I Q U E dessert was mini donuts which were run by Rick and were A M A Z I N G. Guests were given their guest favors of can koozies to use throughout the night, and to use at the fully stocked bar. As the dance was started by the DJ from J Faye Music, the couple provided extra flip-flops for guests to use for their dancing feet [L O V E this idea!]. They also had two bonfire pits that were blazing late into the night. At the end of the night, Kellie & Kelly [with the help of Steve], cleaned up all of the rentals and anything else they could to ease the stress of the couple.

Melanie + Dan – we at Rustic Elegance want to take a moment again to say how T H A N K F U L we are to have met you and we had SO much fun helping with you special day! You were a blast to work with – and we hope that married life is treating you well. Special shout out to Shelley Kay Photography for sharing these beautiful photos with us!

Lauren + Micah | Backyard Wedding in Glenwood City, WI

Lauren + Micah – where to even start with this love story? These two were so G R E A T to work with and their love for one another was undeniable! Kellie was the lead planner on this wedding and met with the couple during their planning process and knew it was going to be an E L E G A N T [& dreamy] wedding. For one of the planning meetings with Kellie, they also met with their DJ [Jason from Three Six Sound]. It was a fun dual meeting and Kellie learned L O T S about DJing at weddings and all of the F U N planning that goes into making sure the music is a good fit for the crowd. Lauren + Micah also opted to have Rustic Elegance help with their rentals for their day and they D E C K E D their wedding out with our special rustic touches!

The day began with the girls getting ready at the house on the property where the wedding would occur. A List Bridal Hair and Makeup prepped the girls for the day ahead. Rustic Elegance worked on setting the tables in the reception tent, using white linens, complemented by maroon napkins. The couple rented vintage plates from Rustic Elegance, as well as their head table. Pristine Floral added floral arrangements to the center of all of the tables for the P E R F E C T finishing touch. The day was a little chilly, so in order to keep guests warm + toasty, we opted to reach out to our heating experts from Sunbelt Rentals to come and pipe in some last minute heat. The couple then took their photos [which turned out absolutely S T U N N I N G thanks to JLauren Photography] and even got a few with their pup, Cooper!

The couple decided on using family owned land and creating a B E A U T I F U L wedding site from scratch. The ceremony was lined up with rental chairs from Ultimate Events, complemented with a draped arch by We’ve Got it Covered, and finishing touches from Pristine Floral [the outcome was G O R G E O U S]. The aisle was formed by natural trees on the land [it couldn’t have worked out any better!]. Lauren and her dad walked down the aisle accompanied by music from the Loring String Quartet. After the couple said their “I do’s”, Rustic Elegance along with friends and family helped move the chairs from the ceremony to the tent for the reception.

Next, passed appetizers were served by This Little Piggy Catering during a cocktail hour. Cocktail tables [rented from Rustic Elegance] were placed around the reception area for guests to gather before dinner. The couple rented a beer trailer from Liquorhaus, and had Bar Pro as the bartender. As guests were seated they were dismissed to grab their plates and head to the buffet line [with plenty of A M A Z I N G options]. Post speeches and dinner, it was time for some sweets! The dessert table was F I L L E D with cupcakes from Nadia’s Cupcakes, placed elegantly on barrels and a tabletop provided by Rustic Elegance. The couple rented cupcake stands from Rustic Elegance as well, adding a special touch to their display! After dessert, the dance had begun! Three Six Sound did an amazing job luring guests into the large shed where the dance floor was and kept the guests involved until the end of the night.

The Great Dessert Debate

One of our favorite parts of weddings [& probably all of the guests’ too] is D E S S E R T! We absolutely adore the creative ways that couples choose to satisfy the sweet cravings of their guests. Whether you decide on small mini cupcakes or an ice cream truck vendor, the varieties seem limitless. When considering options for the dessert of choice on your special day, we have a few TIPS & TRICKS that we would love to share with you! Which [yummy] dessert[s] will win you over?

TRADITIONAL [ask your parents, they’ll agree]

C A K E: If you like chocolate, vanilla, or a mix of both – traditional wedding cake is always a great option. You can dress it up with a cute cake topper [check out Etsy stores], sprinkles, shimmer, etc. Also, if you opt to go the cupcake route, it’s always fun to have a small cake for the “cake cutting” traditional ceremony [this way, you have some frosting to put on your significant other’s face].

Cupcakes [of A L L sizes]: The best thing about cupcakes is you can have them in assorted sizes. Have the traditional size, giant variety, mini cupcakes or, a combination! Cupcakes also come in unlimited flavor combinations, depending on the bakery you decide to go with. One of our favorite vendors, Nadia Cakes, was featured on Season 1 and 2 of TLC’s show Fabulous Cakes. They have a wide range of fun cupcake flavors and options, including Cookies & Cream, Lemon Drop, Peanut Butter Cup, Salted Caramel, and Vanilla Vanilla [Kellie’s absolute F A V].

Cookies [& milk]: Cookies are fun, easy, and a wonderful way to share your style. One wedding we helped with had the bakery make each family member’s favorite cookie, and these were noted at the wedding with a sign. We have also had the aunts of the couple make and bring their favorite dessert bars to share. These are such G R E A T ways to get family involved on your special day. Also, consider adding some milk to the end of your cookie selection [because what’s a cookie without milk to go with it?].

MOST CREATIVE [trust us, you’ll be happy you read this!]

P I E: This is such a fun idea – pies of all kinds! We’ve seen regular pies baked by family members, or pies by one of our favorite vendors Sara’s Tipsy Pies. She can even provide mini pies, which can be placed on a stick, or pies in mason jars [how fun!]! Sara has partnered with local wine, whiskey, and beer vendors such as 2 Gingers, Liftbridge, Saint Croix Vineyards, Finnegans, Third Street Brewhouse, Winehaven, etc., to add a little twist to her desserts.

Cheesecakes: You can’t really go wrong with a good cheesecake! The F U N thing about cheesecakes is that you can also get mini cheesecake bites to satisfy the sweet tooth. This is a fun option to upgrade from regular cake that we [absolutely] adore. Check out Muddy Paws Cheesecake for some G R E A T options!

Cake Pops [little rounds of deliciousness]: Cake pops are another creative alternative to cake or cupcakes. You can display cake pops in mason jars, on cake pop stands, etc. They are also super easy to make if you are a D I Y queen and have all of the right equipment.
Day of Coordinator, Tips + Tricks, The Great Dessert Debate_0085.jpgPhoto by: Asher Marie Photography; Cake pops: The Thirsty Whale Bakery

Want s’more? [the answer is Y E S]: North Mallow offers a traveling S’mores Bar which includes 9 different flavored artisan marshmallows, a variety of different graham crackers, chocolates, and candy bars! They also bring along a “Roast Counselor” to give suggestions on how to make the perfect s’more [graham cracker + marshmallow + R E E S E S = yes please!].

NEW & NOTEWORTHY [because why not?]

D E S S E R T trucks [how cool is this?]: One of the C O O L E S T new ideas that we have seen is catering in a dessert food truck. We’ve seen an ice cream truck [Minnesota Nice Cream], and are waiting for this to catch on to more weddings [we are aware that there is a cookie dough truck – N E E D to try this!].

[Mini] Dessert Shooters: Not a huge dessert fan? One idea for those wanting a L I G H T but sweet treat is adding mini dessert shooters as your dessert. These can come in different types of pudding, mousses, etc., and can contain all sorts of flavors.

D E S S E R T bars [of all types]: Another noteworthy idea for desserts is to consider adding a D I Y serve yourself bar of desserts! It could be a pie bar, cookies & milk bar, caramel apple bar, crepe making station, or even an ice cream sundae bar! A great friend of ours This Little Piggy Catering can help provide an ice cream bar or crepe making station. Their ice cream bar includes – delicious Bridgeman’s Ice Cream, peanuts, strawberries, cherries, M&M’S, Reeses, Oreos, sprinkles, warm hot fudge, and warm caramel. They also offer a 1919 keg of Root Beer for floats as well [ok this is S O fun]. Their crepe making station features Nutella, Caramel, Banana, Cinnamon twist, Lemon Supreme, Strawberry, Banana Strawberry Supreme, and Chocolate. It allows your guest to order just what they like [& you too]!

Cotton C A N D Y: We haven’t seen a couple do this yet, but think it would be S O fun to add a cotton candy machine to your dessert options, especially if you’re getting married on the fairgrounds. Think about this fun [& not overused] dessert idea.

AN ASSORTMENT OF YOUR FAVS [& we are sure we’ll agree]

Mix & Match: There are S O many different desserts you can mix & match. It could be all cupcakes, but some mini sized and some regular sized, to cake pops and a traditional cake, or maybe cookies & an ice cream sundae bar [we could go on for D A Y S with options]. There is no “wrong” when it comes to your desserts & pairing a few great tastes together.

F L A V O R S: Most desserts come in multiple flavors [unless you’re sticking to one G I A N T cake]. Don’t forget to have a variety of flavors for your guests to choose from [& also watch for food allergies that you’re aware of for your guests], but they are going to be so grateful either way!

DISPLAYS [we can help!]
Hey – let’s D I S P L A Y: The way that you choose to display your desserts can also dress up your reception space. Rustic Elegance provides a variety of display options to rent for your special day. We have plenty of cake stands, cupcake stands, wine barrel table, a vintage hutch, etc., that we would L O V E for you to use. When thinking about where you’re going to put your desserts, think about where your guests will be post dinner [hopefully on the D A N C E floor] and consider placing the desserts in an area close. Also, consider who is going to place your desserts on the display [& keep it full]. Will it be the dessert vendor, family, friends, or your day of coordinator [we can do that!]? Plan for this ahead of time so you aren’t stuck with a ton of extra sweets post-wedding [unless you want that – we wouldn’t mind it].

Ashley + Jack | John P. Furber Farm

We LOVED helping Ashley + Jack with their Day of Coordinating at the the Historic John P. Furber Farm! They are just the sweetest couple! We had so much fun chatting about their wedding details over coffee [our favorite way to plan weddings!]

Their day started off with all nine bridesmaids getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite wearing super cute matching robes [with mimosas in hand of course]. As Ashley walked through the ceremony doors [rented from Rustic Elegance], We saw Jack shed a tear as he saw his bride for the first time that day. That made us tear up just a little also! Ashley + Jack filled the Furber Barn with 350 of their fav people!. A’BriTin Catering handled this guest count like a champ! We then placed an entire cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes [which also happens to be our personal fav] on each of the tables for guests to enjoy (thats a lot of cake)! The night continued with lots of dancing fun, how could you leave the dance floor with Adagio playing their good beats?

Ashley + Jack we want to sincerely thank you for including Rustic Elegance in your special day! We loved meeting you two and wish you the best!! We will definitely miss our coffee planning dates!
