Nick + Emily were so much fun to work with while planning their wedding! Lead coordinator Kellie loved that both of them came to their pre-planning meetings so she could get to know both of them and what their wedding dreams looked like as a couple. They were set for a spring wedding at the Round Barn, one of our F A V places!
The ladies spent the morning of the wedding getting hair & makeup done at the barn by Lady Vamp Artistry, while the guys got spiffed up in the groom’s room. While the bridal party prepped for the day, the RE team was busy setting up the decor throughout the space. The couple opted to rent decor from RE including our white sofa, buffet table, dessert stands and some signs! After everyone was ready, Forth and Able caught some amazing pictures of the crew before the ceremony, including an A D O R A B L E first look. We did a quick day of rehearsal before the guests arrived for the ceremony. It was then time to start! The ceremony was short, sweet and beautiful. The couple chose to partake in doing a unity symbol, which was a wooden chest filled with notes and mementos from their years together. The Stringdingers Bluegrass Band played during the ceremony and the live music was beautiful in the outdoor space at Round Barn.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in the pavilion before heading into the round barn for the dance. The gifts & cards were placed on Round Barn’s old horse carriage – we L O V E D this! Dinner was served by A’BriTin [as always, so Y U M M Y], and desserts were cupcakes/small cake from The Copper Hen. Instead of doing guest favors, the couple donated money to cancer research – a very cool way to honor something special to you as a couple. After dinner, dessert & speeches, it was time to dance the night away. The first dance for the newly married couple was played by the Stringdingers, “You and Me” written by Tom Petty. The Stringdingers then picked it up and guests joined in for a night full of love, laughter and dancing. Guests also were able to enjoy the bonfire with smores outside before the late night snack arrived [P I Z Z A].
Emily + Nick – your day was one for the books! We L O V E D being a part of your wedding and hope that married life is treating you well in this new chapter of life. Thank you to Forth and Able for sharing these great photos of their day with us!
We had so much fun working with Callan and her mom to plan a gorgeous October wedding for Callan and Michael at The Round Barn. These two met on a blind date and shared their story with us so we HAD to share! Two of their mutual friends were celebrating birthdays and wanted to go for a motorcycle ride to celebrate. Callan of course, was in for the ride but didn’t know how to drive one. That’s where Mike comes in! Callan’s friend assured her that she would have someone to ride with. At the birthday party, they both said they had an instant connection with one another. After the birthday party, Callan thought for sure that Michael would ask for her number, but in true fashion, he just gave her a goodbye wave! She was persistent and ended up finding his Snapchat and talking to him there until he gave her his number.
If the story about how they met didn’t make your heart melt, the proposal story sure will! Callan had always dreamed about a Jeep Wrangler and owning one sometime in her life. She had been saving for one for a while when she met Michael. He kept encouraging her to save for it, until one day he told her that it would be a “money pit”. Discouraged, she decided to let that dream go, as she trusted his judgement. Fast forward to their three year anniversary. Michael had kept the whole night surprise from Callan & she was S U P E R excited! Although others questioned if the proposal was going to happen that evening, Michael threw Callan off by overly mentioning that was not the case, just a nice celebration for their anniversary and to wear a “nice dress” for their dinner. They headed off to the St. Paul Pool & Yacht Club for dinner. They had great service, amazing food and the B E S T seat in the house. While they were there, they talked about their future, marriage & getting engaged as if it were in the distant future… when really it was going to start that evening. After dinner, they headed down to the valet to get their car to head home. At the valet parking, there was Callan’s D R E A M Jeep Wrangler – two door pure white with custom tires and extras. Callan mentioned to Michael how beautiful the car was and his response was “It’s yours, I built it for you”. The parking attendant then jumped out of the car and handed Callan a box. She opened it and there was a little wooden frame that said “Will you marry me?” and that’s when Michael dropped on one knee and popped the question!
After that grand proposal, the couple was super excited for their future together and started planning their wedding. They used our Elegance package for their planning which includes our entire decor inventory! Lead planner Kellie loved helping the couple come up with different ways to use the decor at The Round Barn, and soon enough, the big day was here!
Nate & Chad (our handy Rustic Elegance delivery team) brought the furniture to Round Barn and helped Kellie & Kelly place it throughout the barn. We created cozy lounge areas in the top of the barn, featuring our furniture – couches, coffee tables, sitting chairs, lamps etc. We also used our wine barrels with tops along with our bar in the lower part of the barn. This created a great space for guests to mingle and grab a drink on the way up to the dance floor. We also used our display hutch at the ceremony site to display champagne/sparkling water for guests to take prior to the ceremony, and then we re-used the hutch as one of the [three!!] dessert displays later on in the evening. The RE team also hung our string lights across the center hole in the barn for some added ambience, as well as on a pallet wall behind the bride and groom for the reception. Our RE chalk artist Kierra designed a large, custom chalk timeline for the couple that made a great accent piece for the reception space.
The guys + gals prepped in their respective suites on the morning of the wedding before the ceremony. The wedding party consisted of 4 attendants per side, and included the C U T E S T flower girl/flower dog combo [Khloe + Tuka]. Tuka was the couple’s dog and was so well behaved. She stole our hearts a bit. They glided down the aisle to say their I do’s, to the song Cannon in D, which was played by a trio. After the gorgeous ceremony, the trio moved to the pavilion and continued to play for the cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed an appetizer buffet from This Little Piggy before sitting down for dinner.
This Little Piggy provided an awesome dinner buffet in the pavilion before speeches & dances. The couple had the most A M A Z I N G dessert station spread throughout the barn: one on the hutch, one on the wine barrel/door, and a smaller display of mini desserts on a sofa table upstairs. Cossetta’s brought the desserts and there were T O N S of options to choose from. Guests loved the variety [+ so did we!]. Cossetta’s also provided the guests favors of chocolate goodie bags. After dinner + desserts, the couple danced their first dance to “You Make It Easy” by Jason Aldean – it was such a special moment between these two love birds! After the first dance guests joined in the dancing to get the party started. The reception setup was G O R G E O U S and guests seemed to love the cozy seating arrangements with RE furniture to gather around. Guests also enjoyed the bonfire outside the barn – it was a chilly night and P E R F E C T fire weather. For the late night snack, the RE team placed out a cute popcorn bar to round out the night. After everyone said their goodbyes, the couple and some of the wedding party stayed overnight at the B&B.
Callan + Michael, we L O V E D being a part of your love story, and hope that married life is treating you well. We hope that you are driving right into this new chapter of your life, Jeep Wrangler and all!
Where to even start with this cute couple? Marissa + Josh and their families were so nice to work with! This was our 2nd wedding in this backyard, as we helped with Josh’s brother Justin’s wedding a few months earlier. We absolutely loved working with this family and we miss them dearly after all the time spent with them creating two, magical backyard weddings!
The tent was set up the Thursday before the wedding in the large, open yard, and We’ve Got It Covered draped the tent with fabric and lights [so P R E T T Y!]. Rustic Elegance then came back on Saturday morning ready to set up the rest of the decor, and ensuring everything was set and ready for the day. Their decor included a memory display of those loved ones who had passed, placed on top of a special wood slice that was made by grandpa. The couple opted to include a bounce house in their wedding fun as their “kid’s activity”! It was such a hit with the kids, and all of the kid’s at heart [a.k.a. the adults enjoyed it too!]. The couple also rented Rustic Elegance’s bar and barrels with table tops for their cocktail hour set up. It was perfect weather wise – a sunny, beautiful day! The large wedding party consisted of 7 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen, plus the cutest little ring bearer and flower girl combo.
Surrounded by beautifully landscaped sections of the yard, complete with special wildflowers planted by the family, the couple said their “I do’s”
in front of an arbor built by the family. The ring bearers pulled the flower girl down the aisle in a wagon, almost stealing the show before the beautiful bride walked down the aisle with her dad. For their unity symbol, the couple tied three strands to make one braid.
During cocktail hour, guests again enjoyed the bouncy house, as well as yard games. Then, it was dinner time – a pig roast buffet! The Lookout in Maple Grove brought in the full pig and served it buffet style for the guests to enjoy. It was Y U M M Y! Then, for dessert, yummy C U P C A K E S! As the sunset, you could now see the monogram brought in by the DJ that lit up the couple’s initials on the tent [so unique + cool!] and the dance had begun! The couple did their first dance to “Today” by Brad Paisley. We lit the bonfire and set out s’mores for a little late night sweet snack. At the end of the night, the couple exited with a sparkler send including flair fireworks!
Josh + Marissa – we loved your extra S P E C I A L and memorable day, and miss our meetings with you both [+ the fam!]. We hope that married life is the D R E A M! Shout out to Whitney Sue Photography for the fantastic photos & High Shine Media for the great video!
Anita + Paul were such a fun couple to work with. Lead planner Kellie actually played hockey with Anita, so this wedding definitely tugged on the heart strings. The couple actually met at a hockey game – a mutual friend had initiated a meet up and thought that it would be F U N for Paul to watch Anita play! Helping plan their wedding was so fun, and the day came up very quick.
Kellie and assistant Kristin helped with this wedding at the beautiful Redeemed Farm [one of our F A V S!] Julie + Jeff from Redeemed are so great to work with, and we love coming back to this venue time and time again! Rustic Elegance prepped the decor at the ceremony site, including a handmade cross by the couple, and the couple’s unity symbol. Guests were invited to come an hour early to enjoy drinks, yard games, and mingling on the barn grounds instead of your traditional cocktail hour.
The ceremony was beautiful – the groom’s children Patrick + Britta played the prelude violin music as guests arrived. The couple stood together at the altar and said their vows in front of their 140 guests. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a buffet dinner by Custom Catering which was O H so yummy! The barn was set up with simple decor, including the Rustic Elegance Milk Can as a card box, and a large spread of desserts including cupcakes, cookies, and long johns!
The couple danced their first dance to I Will Be Here by Steven Curtis, and it was oh so S W E E T! We loved being a part of Anita + Paul’s wedding day and wish them all the best in their new adventure together! Thank you two for including us in such a special day [hopefully Kellie will get to see you again on the ice again soon Anita]! Also thank you to TMOR Photography for these S T U N N I N G pictures from the big day!
Chelsea + Brandon had the most beautiful Sunday morning brunch wedding, hosted at the Hewing Hotel! Kellie loved meeting with Chelsea leading up to the big day – she had such a vision and we absolutely loved helping that turn into a reality!
The ceremony/reception were hosted in the same room. Lead planner Kellie + assistant Kierra were there to help set up decor and make sure the day ran smooth. The ceremony set up was simple and elegant, featuring gold chiavari chairs from Apres, and arch/draping done by Apres as well. The draping also featured G O R G E O U S greenery from Thistle and Bloom. Large lanterns lined the ceremony aisles. The entrance of the ceremony had Rustic Elegance crates, and our easel with the couple’s beautiful welcome sign. The wedding party was small, having just a Maid of Honor and Best Man, and their cute little flower girls and ring bearers [even one in a W A G O N]. The ceremony was sweet, and featured a very U N I Q U E unity symbol – combining glass pieces during the ceremony and which will melted together post wedding.
After the ceremony, the room was flipped by the Hewing staff, Rustic Elegance duo, and Kelly from Thistle and Bloom! The table decor consisted of greens, lanterns, and votives. The dessert display was one for the books – A M A Z I N G! They had a large display of different donuts, with a large donut for “cake-cutting” by the bride and groom, all from Angel Food Bakery. Breakfast was provided by the Hewing and consisted of a delicious buffet, including many gourmet breakfast food options. The couple was seated at a sweetheart table with a blush, sequin linen from Apres, and lots of gorgeous florals. After breakfast was served, guests enjoyed a photobooth that produced tons of fun photo memories.
Special shout out to Alex Maxwell Photography for sharing these photos with us of their beautiful day!
Chelsea + Brandon – Thank you so much or including Rustic Elegance in your special day!! We hope that married life is perfect and wish you the very best!
Charlotte & Jonathan where do we even start with this sweet couple? Lead coordinator Kellie planned with Charlotte and her mom and loved helping them envision the perfect wedding day for the couple while Jonathan completed training for the military. The couple tied the knot at Green Acres Event Center, a beautiful barn situated in Eden Prairie [who we love working with!].
The August wedding date was finally here, and it was a B E A U T I F U L day! The couple opted to have their ceremony at the outside location at Green Acres surrounded by the trees & nature. Decor included the Rustic Elegance ceremony doors with double barrels at the entrance. 101 Market brought gorgeous floral for the doors and barrels making for a S T U N N I N G entrance for the wedding party to walk down the aisle through. Finally, it was ceremony time & guests watched Charlotte enter with her father gracefully down the aisle as she met the love of her life at the front of the podium. In a short & sweet ceremony, the couple tied the knot with their closest family and friends, and Spicy Meatball Photography was there to capture all of the special moments.
On the inside of the barn, the set-up crew at Green Acres placed linens and dinnerware while the Rustic Elegance team placed decor throughout. The dessert table was A M A Z I N G with treats and a cake from Sweet Assurance. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour and passed appetizers outside before heading in for the buffet style dinner from Deco Catering. After an amazing dinner & F A B speeches, it was time to dance the night away! Spicy Meatball did photography, DJing and a photo booth for this wedding and did a G R E A T job with all of these duties!
The couple ended the night with the bride doing a dress change into her getaway dress, and exited through a P E R F E C T sparkler send off. Charlotte and Jonathan, we hope that married life is a T R E A T and that you two are enjoying it! Thank you for including Rustic Elegance as the day-of-coordinator for your wedding – we L O V E D working with you. Special shout out to Spicy Meatball Photography for sharing these great photos with us!
Jaclyn + Elling’s wedding was so much F U N to plan! Lead planner Kayla loved meeting with the bride at coffee shops around the downtown Minneapolis area, talking about wedding plans and getting so excited for their special day. Jaclyn + Elling selected a location in Wasau, WI to tie the knot (approximately a 3 hour drive from the Twin Cities). The Rustic Elegance team took a road trip to Wasau the day before the ceremony to run the wedding rehearsal.
The morning of the wedding, Rustic Elegance began prepping at the reception location, the Rotschild Pavilion. The venue was very unique – it used to be an old roller skating rink! The guest tables were set with white linens, vases with twinkle lights, and greenery. Kase Styles brought in the greenery for the guest tables, along with stunning tall floral arrangements for the head table – L O V E D working with them! The bouquet for the bride featured protea flowers that were as big as a face! The weather for the day was a little iffy, raining on and off all morning. We made the call to have the wedding outside because the outdoor venue that they selected was on top of a M O U N T A I N! Rib Mountain State park was where the ceremony was held, in an amphitheater that overlooked the whole city of Wasau. The site was decked out with a rug and floral arch from Kase Styles – it was simply stunning! The rain held off long enough for the couple to get some pre-ceremony pictures with the ever so talented Natural Intuition Photography, and the ceremony went on with only a few drops of rain – which many say is L U C K Y!
After the ceremony ended, guests headed to the Rotschild Pavilion for some appetizers, while the wedding party took a party bus around the town. After the wedding party arrived and made their grand entrance, Urban Street Bistro prepared an extravagant buffet style dinner that featured some A M A Z I N G food that was well received by all guests. After some amazing speeches by family, DJ Brian from The Brian West Show started pumping up the party! The newlyweds were sent off at the end of the night with a cute sparkler send off, ready to begin their life as a married couple!
Jaclyn + Elling – we hope that you are thoroughly enjoying life in your new[ish] home with your cute pup as newlyweds. We loved being your day of coordinators, and can’t wait to see you grow as a married couple!
Our lead coordinator, Kayla, had SO much for planning with Melissa + Matt in the months prior to their wedding. Being a very organized person, Melissa would come to the planning meetings with her “book of knowledge” – a binder that included everything needed to know about her big day! The couple decided to tie the knot at Dellwood Country Club, a beautifully situated venue in Dellwood, MN.
When the day was finally here, the Rustic Elegance team arrived and unpacked the decor boxes and set-up. The ladies prepped for the day with Lady Vamp Artistry rocking their makeup. The tables were decorated with a variety of centerpieces, including lighthouse figurines [the groom is a huge light house fan] which we L O V E D that they incorporated this into their day! The ceremony was set up with minimal decor – wine barrels at the entrance with fall mums, a few memory photos of loved ones, and blanket scarves to keep guests warm throughout the ceremony. After all the set up and preparation, it was finally time to tie the knot!
The ring bearer drove down the center of the aisle in a motorized remote control fire truck, which was O H – S O adorable! It was really fitting due to the groom being a firefighter [and another firetruck came later for pictures!]. After everyone had their smiles and giggles from the ring bearer, it was time for the main event. Melissa + her dad made their grand entrance as they entered down the deck staircase of the Country Club, with Matt watching from the front. They opted to not do a pre-ceremony first look, so this was the first time he was seeing his beautiful bride. After a short + sweet ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the Fireside Room before filling into the main dining room for dinner.
The wedding party was seated at a harvest table in the middle of the room, surrounded by round guest tables throughout. Dinner was prepared and served by the Dellwood catering service, with desserts being brought in by Hyvee [which were amazing P I E S!]. After dinner, loving speeches and desserts, it was time to dance! The DJ turned up the music and guests were on the dance floor for the rest of the evening. The couple also played the “shoe game” which made for great fun for all!
Melissa + Matt – we so L O V E D being a part of your wedding day and can’t wait to watch your love story continue for years to come. Shout out to Spicy Meatball Photography for sharing these amazing photos with us to use in the blog!
Oh where to start with this S W E E T couple! Haley + Makkonen dug into their planning process with lead planner Kellie and the outcome was the most P E R F E C T day! This couple’s love story goes all the way back to high school [high school sweethearts – L O V E it]. Their wedding took place at the Gardens of Castle Rock, an A M A Z I N G outdoor venue that we love being at! We’ve Got It Covered came early in the morning do some G O R G E O U S draping under the tent and brought along their deep purple linens for the guest tables. The ladies in the wedding party prepped for the day in the newly renovated bridal suite, and the guys arrived a little later just in time for their first look! Jeannine Marie photographed this sweet couple and their bridal party throughout the day, doing a F A N T A S T I C job as always. Rustic Elegance prepped the guest tables, place cards, dessert table, and other decor throughout the space, and finally it was ceremony time!
The ceremony was held under the Lath House at the Gardens of Castle Rock. The site was S T U N N I N G featuring a arch of gorgeous flowers provided by Studio B Floral, entrance doors provided by us, a pink aisle runner and the natural beauty of the venue. After the ceremony, it was time for cocktail hour- guests enjoyed refreshments and appetizers by Mintahoe catering, and also enjoyed touring the beautifully manicured grounds and gardens. Guests then moved under the tent to their beautiful decorated dinner tables with purple linens, burlap purple runners, white napkins, gold chairs, and floral centerpieces from Studio B Floral. The newlyweds sat at a sweetheart table – a cute touch! Mintahoe served an amazing dinner, and speeches came next, where there was not a dry eye in the room for most of them. We love hearing old & fun memories about the couples in the speeches! The rest of the evening was full of dancing and love radiating from the happily married couple.
Haley + Makkonen – Thank you for including us in your day as your wedding coordinator’s, we love being a part of your love story! We hope that married life is a dream, and wish you all the love and happiness. Special shout out to Jeannine Marie Photography for sharing these A M A Z I N G pictures with us!
Kirsten + Jason tied the knot in June at the Furber Farm + we L O V E D everything about planning with them! The ladies got their hair & makeup done by Shelly Blackstone, and then arrived at the venue in a big, P I N K party bus. They then set up shop in the gorgeous bridal suite to get dressed for the day. The bridal suite at Furber Farm is amazing! While the ladies continued prepping, the guys arrived and headed to the groom’s room. They enjoyed playing some card games before getting into their suits. Once both parties were ready, it was first look time! Dodge Creative set up their first look on the deck at the farm, despite the crazy weather that day [a little bit of rain & humidity]. After the couple had their first look, the wedding party joined for a few pre-ceremony photos outside when the rain let up.
Meanwhile, Rustic Elegance was busy setting up the decor for the day. The couple decided to have their ceremony indoors due to the humidity and potential threat of rain, so we set up for the ceremony where the head table would later be placed. They had a great wood folding backdrop, paired with Rustic Elegance wine barrels. Cindy’s Floral Creations brought in S T U N N I N G arrangements, including accent pieces for on top the barrels. They also provided G O R G E O U S greenery with purple accents for the head table! Other prep for the day included setting out the memory photos, placed on the Rustic Elegance ladder, arranging the place cards, and setting out the handmade card box on the gift table [which was made out of a wooden stump!].
Finally, it was time for the couple to get married. The wedding party entered from the first floor and processed up to the ceremony site. Then the bride, escorted by her uncle, made their grand entrance via the staircase from the second level. Officiant Matt Berdahl went through the ceremony with ease, doing a great job as always. The couple opted to do a unity symbol, with three different sand colors, and included the groom’s daughter in their ceremony. A kiss sealed the deal, and then it was cocktail hour!
Guests enjoyed drinks while the room was being flipped for dinner. Distinctive Catering did a F A N T A S T I C job keeping up with the large crowd for the plated meal (240 guests) & the food was so T A S T Y, too! Desserts were provided by Distinctive as well and consisted of cute & yummy cupcakes. After dinner and speeches, DJ Kelsey (rock star) from Adagio started off the night with the formal dances, and kept the party going all night long! Distinctive also provided late night wood fired pizzas that were definitely a hit with the guests.
Kirstin + Jason, thank you for including Rustic Elegance as your coordinators in your wedding day – we LOVED being a part of your love story! We hope that your married life adventures are nothing but fun + exciting, and we can’t wait to watch your love grow! Shout out to Dodge Creative for the A W E S O M E images!
